West Indies gain easy win against Zimbabwe in 2nd T20


The Twenty20 world Cup title winners West Indies gain a 2nd comfortable victory over Zimbabwe with a 41 run win in Antigua on Sunday.

Lendl Simmons continued his brilliant form with 41 runs and Kieron Pollard smashed an undefeated 45 from 39 deliveries as West Indies scored 158 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Zimbabwe made a poor start while chase with West Indies leg spinner Samuel Badree picked up three wickets to have the Zimbabwe struggling at 33 for 3 in the eighth over.

The run chase never seemed on from that point, Hamilton Masakadza made an unbeaten 53 runs with little contribute at the other end.

West Indies won the two match series 2-0. Simmons hitted six sixes in an unbeaten 63 on Saturday to helped West Indies to a easy eight wicket win. A two match test series between the two sides starts in Barbados on March 12.

Simmons and Best leads West Indies eight wicket win over Zimbabwe in first T20


Lendl Simmons' 3rd T20 Fifty and an unbeaten 85 runs for the third wicket partnership with Dwayne Bravo leads the West Indies to an eight wicket victory over Zimbabwe in first Twenty20  international on Saturday.

In the chasing to Zimbabwe's 130 for 8, the opening batsman hitted six sixes, the last finishing the game at the start of the 17th over, in ended on unbeaten 63 and got the man of the match award for the world champions. Bravo (38*) escape from a missed run out chance at the start of his innings.

Earlier, Malcolm Waller dismissed one run short of a first T20 fifty and fast bowler Tino Best take three wickets to restrict Zimbabwe. Waller and Craig Ervine added 60 runs for the fourth wicket stand,This was a new Zimbabwe T20 record.

The second and final match of the Twenty20 series takes place at the same Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Sunday.
